November 8, 2017: South Shore Red Line Commuters TAKE NOTE

Chances are you already know about this, but we'd be remiss if we did not promote this to our thousands of LMA commuters who travel from the South Shore.

The MBTA Wollaston Station will be closing for 20 months starting January 2nd.

Starting Tuesday, January 2, 2018 Wollaston Station on the MBTA Red Line will be closed for 20 months to allow for construction of major accessibility improvements and state-of-the-art safety features that will result in a modern and code-compliant station.

Travel Impacts:

During the 20 month closure, Red Line trains will pass through the station without stopping.  The MBTA will be operating shuttle bus service to transport passengers between Wollaston and North Quincy Station.

The parking lot at Wollaston will remain open during the station closure.  However the number of parking spaces will be reduced from 538 to 423.  MBTA passengers unable to park at Wollaston are encouraged to park at the North Quincy Station overflow lot along Newport Avenue which can be accessed at Enterprise Drive

The MBTA will be hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Quincy Central Middle School Auditorium.  MBTA staff will be available to answer questions regarding the project.
