OUTSIDE Highlights for the week of August 26th

Tuesday August 27th, Storyteller THEA IBERALL is OUTSIDE from 12-2 pm at the Countway Courtyard telling stories on the half hour. Iberall has been called ‘a shimmering bridge between heart and mind.’ An inductee into the International Educators Hall of Fame, she writes stories that springboard from the personal into moral issues, scientific questions, and emotional truths. As a performance poet and storyteller, she’s been featured at almost 100 venues including StorySpace, Open Spirit, Amazing Things Art Center, Limmud, Expresso Yourself Coffeehouse, Worcester State University, and Berkshire Festival of Women’s Writers. She represented Los Angeles at the National Poetry Slams in Austin, TX where they came in 3rd in the country. She is the co-host of Expresso Yourself Coffeehouse in Medfield, MA. An author and playwright, Thea has a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from UMass and is a member of Northeast Storytellers.

On Thursday, August 29th, Storyteller ANDREA LOVETT is OUTSIDE from 12-2pm with stories on the half hour. Lovett is co-founder of the award-winning non-profit organization MassMouth, the founder of South Shore Story Slams and a board member of Stories in the Street. She has taught and performed stories nationally and internationally. She won The Brother Blue Award from the League of Advancement of New England Storytellers and the Oracle Award from National Storytelling Network. Lovett has been featured several times in Boston Globe Magazine and in South Shore Living Magazine. She has two CDs to her credit: Folktales From The Forest and Tales From The Table. Lovett is currently a teaching artist for Young Audiences of Massachusetts.  She believes stories and storytelling help create strong, healthy and connected communities. Lovett shares personal stories about humorous adults, family stories - a mix of personal and folk.
