May 20, 2019: Harvard Convocation and Class Day THIS WEEK: IMPORTANT NEWS

The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is holding its Convocation on Wednesday, May 29, on the HMS Quad.  Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine will hold their Class Day ceremony on Thursday, May 30, also on the HMS Quad.

Countway Plaza will be closed on May 29, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., to ensure safety. Harvard University Police and security staff will be on site to direct pedestrians to alternate routes around the Countway Library for access to Shattuck Street and Huntington Avenue.  

Please note the following restrictions to the HMS Quad on, Wednesday, May 29, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.:

  • Access into or through the HMS Quad will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only Harvard Chan School graduates and event ticket holders will be allowed under the tent. Individuals with a valid Harvard University ID will be permitted on the quad walkways. All individuals will go through a brief security screening before entering.  
  • Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 12” will not be permitted onto the Quad. 
  • Security staff will be posted at all entrances leading onto the Quad.

Please note the following restrictions to the HMS Quad on Thursday, May 30, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.:

  • Access into or through the HMS Quad will be restricted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only HMS and HSDM graduates, their guests and individuals with a valid Harvard University ID card will be permitted onto the Quad after going through a brief security screening.
  • Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 12” will not be permitted onto the Quad.
  • Security staff will be posted at all entrances leading onto the Quad.
