MASCO, as part of the LMA Emergency Preparedness Committee, assesses training needs and develops programs to improve preparedness and the ability to respond to emergencies. Training opportunities are shared amongst institutions to leverage resources and foster relations within the LMA.
Training opportunities developed within the LMA include:
Joint Operations Center (JOC) Familiarization Training: MASCO conducts this class for JOC responders to become familiar with the LMA Emergency Plan and protocols and procedures for JOC activation and operation.
Incident Command System (ICS) classes: Held at area institutions and taught by representatives from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Systems Training: MASCO sponsors these very popular classes twice per year.
