After years of construction and traffic changes, the Muddy River Daylighting Project will celebrate the completion of Phase I and officially open the Justine Mee Liff Park.
The LMA community is encouraged to attend the ceremony FRIDAY April 21st at 1 pm at Emmanuel College in the Fenway Room, located at 400 The Fenway. Governor Baker, Mayor Walsh and Colonel Barron of the US Army Corps of Engineers will be in attendance.
The park is named in honor of Justine Mee Liff who began working for the Boston Parks Department in 1987 as the director of planning and development before becoming Boston's first female Parks and Recreation Commissioner in 1996. She served in that position until her death in 2002.
Justine Liff was dedicated to restoring Frederick Law Olmsted's original vision of the Emerald Necklace and the flowing Muddy River.
