Worried
that you need your car at work to get
home for personal emergencies?
Don’t
worry…CommuteWorks will pay for your taxi or car rental rides if
you
need to get home for personal emergencies up to five times per
year.
The
Emergency Ride Home Program has just expanded to include
more commuters. Please read the details below.
An employee at
one of MASCO’s member institutions in the Longwood Medical and
Academic Area qualifies for the Emergency Rid Home Program (ERH), if he or she commutes to work
by the following means:
- Public
transportation (subway, bus, commuter rail, or boat) through
one of MASCO member institution’s transit pass subsidy
program
- A registered
carpool or vanpool with CommuteWorks; or
- Enrollment in
CommuteWorks’ CommuteFit Program.
CommuteWorks will
pay for commuters taxi or car rental vouchers (gratuity is not
included) up to five times a year (per person) if they need to
get home for personal emergencies. Registered participants in the
ERH can use the taxi or car rental vouchers in the following types
of personal emergencies:
- Unexpected
personal illness
- Unexpected
family illness or emergency
- Change in
carpool or vanpool status (carpool or vanpool driver leaves
work early for an unexpected personal emergency and you are
stranded at work)
CommuteWorks’
ERH does not cover the situations below:
- Personal
errands
- Preplanned
medical appointments
- Business-related
travel
- Weather
related inconveniences
- Rides to work
Please
note that students do not qualify for the
Emergency Ride Program.
